Use favorites

Favorites give you quick access to visualizations from Home. Add a view, diagram, chart, nested map, dashboard or impact analysis you return to regularly.

Add and open a favorite

  1. Open a visualization you can access.
  2. Click the star Add to favorites, or choose Actions > Add to favorites.
  3. Return to Home and find the Favorites section.
  4. Click the visualization's name or row to open it.

In the catalog, choose Filters > Only favorites to restrict the visible visualizations to your favorites. Choose Show all to restore the normal catalog display.

The catalog also has a star on each visualization row, available on hover or keyboard focus. You can add or remove a favorite there without opening the item.

In a visualization list, select Favorites and optionally Shared or Personal. These filters combine with the name search. Clear them when you want to find an accessible item outside that selection.

The Home list is sorted by name and uses pagination when necessary. It is personal to your account: adding a favorite does not add it to your colleagues' lists.

Favorites concern visualizations, not inventory assets, relationships or folders. For an asset selection you use regularly, save an inventory view and add that view to your favorites.

Remove a shortcut

  1. Open the visualization and click Remove from favorites, or use its star in the Home table.
  2. Check that it no longer appears in your Favorites list.
  3. To find it again, open its original location in the catalog.

Removing a favorite does not delete, move or rename the visualization. It only removes your shortcut. Use folders to organize content and move or duplicate to change its location or create a copy.

Understand what a favorite preserves

A favorite points to the existing visualization. It does not freeze its configuration or underlying data. Use visualization versions when you need a named reference point.

The Home list includes accessible content from your Personal and Shared trees. Viewers do not load a Personal tree. A favorite never grants additional access to the visualization or its source data.

If a favorite disappears, first check the current organization and whether the visualization is still accessible in the catalog. A deleted source or changed permissions can remove it from the available list. If Home is still loading, wait for the catalog to finish before interpreting an empty Favorites section.
