Improve asset completeness
Completeness measures how much expected information is filled in. It helps find gaps; it does not prove accuracy, relationship consistency or freshness.
An asset can be 100% complete and still need correction. Fill in useful, accurate information rather than adding placeholders to improve the percentage.
Understand what counts
The score counts properties that are neither optional, hidden in the metamodel nor calculated. The asset's name, owners, access domains, relationships and relationship properties do not contribute to this score.
The percentage is the number of filled properties divided by the number counted, rounded to a whole percentage. Only an asset with every counted property filled reaches 100%. With no counted properties, the score is unevaluated rather than 100%.
An absent value, empty text or empty list is not filled. Zero means unfilled for a rating property. By contrast, numeric zero and a Boolean value of false can be valid filled values.
A property hidden in the metamodel is excluded. A property hidden from you by permissions can still count toward the asset's saved score. These are different situations.
Complete an asset
- Open the asset from its inventory.
- Read Completion score in System, or its inventory column.
- Select Edit and fill the missing properties you can access.
- Check the expected formats and save with Validate.
- Read the saved score again.
If you cannot edit a value, use the suggestion workflow where available. A pending suggestion does not change the saved value or improve its official score.
The score may remain below 100% because other counted properties are inaccessible to you. Ask the appropriate person to complete them; you do not necessarily need broader access yourself.
Work through the completion queue
From Home → To do, open Incomplete and choose Review all. This queue includes every asset below 100%: a single empty counted property is enough.
This queue comes with the quality program, as the Incomplete category of To do: it concerns assets you own and can read. Without the program, Home has no completion queue; the score remains on each asset. Read-only owners can suggest missing information where suggestions are offered.
- Read the current score and the accessible missing fields.
- Fill values you can verify from reliable information.
- Review the projected score and any indication that a value will be suggested.
- Select Save and continue for direct changes, or Suggest and continue for suggestions.
- Continue to the next asset, or use Skip for now if you cannot complete the asset.
Edit everything, or Suggest changes when you cannot edit directly, opens the full form when you need to change more than the missing fields. Skipping leaves the work unresolved; it can appear again in a later session.
The projected score counts changes that can be saved directly, not pending suggestions. Some missing properties may be inaccessible; the review indicates this situation. Check the official score after saving.
Agree on the expected information
An administrator can mark a metamodel property Optional to exclude it from completeness. Calculated and hidden properties are excluded too.
Being counted does not automatically mean a field is mandatory before every form can be saved. Completeness and form validation serve different purposes.
Agree on meaningful expectations for each asset type before changing its properties. Once the asset is complete and accurate, its owner can attest it to record the review.
